GMS Basketball Game Schedule

Home games can be viewed through our Facebook page

TBA

The IESA recently changed its guidelines for distancing during games.  The change now allows us to have limited spectators attending basketball and volleyball games using the following protocols:

  • Each player will be allowed to have 2 guests attend a home game only.  6th/7th grade players can have two guests each for 7th grade game. Each player on the 8th grade team is allowed 2 guests for the 8th grade game (including 6th or 7th graders playing up on the 8th grade team). A guest can be a parent, guardian, family member or friend; but cannot exceed 2 individuals, no matter the combination.

  • The 2 guests will need to pass a health screening and temperature check before entering the facility.  Spectators should be free from any symptoms of illness for at least 24 hours prior to attending.

  • Games will be streamed live on the District #102 Facebook page (found at North Pekin Marquette Heights SD 102).  Simply “Like” the page and you will be allowed to view any home contest.

  • There will be NO admission for a home contest.

  • There will NOT be concessions.

  • Spectators will be registered as they enter the facility matching them to their player.

  • The non-playing athletes will be seated in the first 3 rows of the bleachers and physically distanced from each other.  A 12-foot section will be blocked off behind them.  The 2 spectators will be permitted to sit together behind the 12-foot barrier and will need to remain physically distanced (6-feet) from other spectators.

  • Masks must be worn by all spectators/guests. A guest who must be reminded multiple times to wear a mask will be asked to leave.

  • At the conclusion of the 7th grade game, the bleachers will be cleared.  Guests of the 6th/7th grade team members will exit the gym with their player to allow 8th grade guests to occupy the bleachers.

  • 8th grade spectators should enter the school and physically distance from each other while waiting in the auditorium until the bleachers are cleared and they are directed to  enter.

  • Cheerleading will perform during the 7th grade halftime. Poms will perform during the 8th grade halftime. Those participants will not be in the gymnasium during regular game play.

  • Cheerleading and poms are allowed 2 guests each for their performances as well.

  • No guests/spectators from the visiting team are allowed at GMS home games at this time.  Most hosting schools will follow the same guidelines and will not allow visiting teams to have spectators.
