Starting with the week of October 4, 2013, we began a new program honoring Mrs. Ohlman, who was the principal of Marquette Elementary School during 1966-1985.  One student in our school is chosen to be “Student of the Week”.  The student is chosen by their teacher. Each week, a different class and grade has the honor of selecting one student.  The student will have their picture taken and placed in the plaque in the front foyer.

Ella was chosen as the "Golden Rule Student of the Week" for April 16-20.
This is what Miss Look had to say about Ella:
I am so grateful to have such amazing kiddos in my class.  It has been a joy to learn, laugh, and grow with them each and every day.  Today I am excited to be able to tell you about one of my shining stars.  This little girl has one big heart.  She encourages others when they have done well, lifts them up when they need a friend, and always has a kind word to say.  Her smile is as bright as the sun and she has a special way of making everyone around her smile as well.   She has a love for learning that shows through her hard work in and out of the classroom.  She continues to be a dynamite reader as well as a math wizard.  She one is one special girl and I know she will continue to make the world a wonderful place with her high fives and hugs.  The student of the week is Ella!

Jeremiah was chosen as the "Golden Rule Student of the Week" for April 9-13, 2018.
This is what Mrs. Davila had to say about him:

Although this school year started out bumpy, this kid has really come a long way!
Here are two clues to my student of the week:

He is quiet, yet has many friends.

He loves to play on the iPad, but works very hard in class to earn it.

Can you guess who it is?

You are right if you said... Jeremiah!

Ava was chosen as the "Golden Rule Student of the Week" for March 26-29
Mrs. Koszarek chose her because:

This week's student of the week is a super star from Mrs. K's kindergarten. This little lady is SO ready for the first grade! She has been on purple 17 times! She's always ready to learn , setting a wonderful example for her classmates, and a super smarty!
Thank you for being a wonderful girl--my sweet Ava.

Alyssa was chosen as the "Golden Rule Student of the Week" for March 19-23, 2018.   This is what Miss Getka had to say about Alyssa:

This student of the week is always SO well behaved and doesn’t get nearly the credit she deserves with how fantastic she is each and every day. Watching you come out of your shell this year has been one of the many highlights of my first year of teaching, and I feel so blessed to have you in my class. She is always so respectful, responsible, and ready to learn. She is a great friend to her classmates and is an even better student.  I am so happy to announce that Alyssa is this week’s student of the week!
