Starting with the week of October 4, 2013, we began a new program honoring Mrs. Ohlman, who was the principal of Marquette Elementary School during 1966-1985.  One student in our school is chosen to be “Student of the Week”.  The student is chosen by their teacher. Each week, a different class and grade has the honor of selecting one student.  The student will have their picture taken and placed in the plaque in the front foyer.

Kamilah was chosen as the "Golden Rule Student of the Week" for October 16-20, 2017.  This is what Miss Getka had to say about her:

Wowie! This student of the week sure is special. She always works hard and tries her best. She is a bright ray of sunshine in our classroom and is very friendly to everyone around her.

She is eager to participate in class and does a great job of following our classroom rules and expectations. She may need a step stool to reach her gym shoes in her locker, but she’s never short on having a positive attitude!

Congratulations to Kamilah, you are this week’s student of the week!

It's finally my turn to tell you about our Student of the Week. Little Miss Madison, Marquette Elementary School, is going to celebrate you for an entire week! We celebrate you because you are a hard worker, have a kind heart, do not give up, smile every single day, and are a great friend to all. Thank you for the sunshine you bring to our class every morning. Love you sweet girl!

This student sure knows what a first grader should do

because he is such a great listener and a great helper too!

He is a friend to others, never mean

Always goes above and beyond the color green.

He is always ready to learn something new

Already a whiz at math and a good reader too!

He is unique and special, you could say one in a million

If you don’t know him you should, he’s Killian!
