BYOT (Bring Your Own Technology)

BYOT (Bring Your Own Technology)

As new technologies change the world in which we live, they also provide many new and positive educational benefits for classroom instruction.  21st century learning (communication, collaboration, critical thinking, and creativity) is essential for today's students.  Georgetowne Middle School is pleased to offer students the opportunity to bring their own technology to school as a tool to assist in the 21st century classroom.  This is not a requirement.  Students who do not bring their own technology will have access to the same instruction.  Accommodations may be made to allow students access to technology.

Bring Your Own Technology (BYOT) definition:

For the purposes of BYOT, "technology" is any personally owned technolgy device that includes, but is not limited to, exisiting and emerging mobile communications systems and smart technologies, that can be used for word processing, wireless internet access, image capture/recording, sound recording and information transmitting/receiving/storing, etc.

Below you will find two documents, the BYOT Policy, and the Acceptable Use Policy.  Please take some time to read through these documents as they contain important information you will want to know.
