IMPORTANT MEAL DISTRIBUTION UP-DATE FOR (4/4 through 4/13)

Spring break for District 102 runs from Saturday, April 4 through Monday, April 13. During this time our offices will be closed and all remote learning days will be suspended. During a portion of this time, our cafeteria staff will continue to distribute meals to those students that need them. Meals will be distributed on Monday-Thursday, April 6-9 of spring break. No meals will be distributed on Friday, April 10 (Good Friday) or Monday, April 13.

Distribution times (7:30-10:00 AM) and locations (MES & GMS)
will remain the same.

PLEASE NOTE – When coming to pick up meals for the children, please be prepared to provide the names and school of attendance for all children for whom meals are being obtained. We recently received notification from the Illinois State Board of Education’s Child Nutrition Department that any school operating a USDA-funded Child Nutrition Program is allowed to distribute child meals to a parent or guardian instead of directly to the children due to the requirements of social distancing and the Shelter in Place order for the state of Illinois. All Schools MUST develop a plan and enforce the message that meals being distributed to parents or guardians are for the children only. As a result, we will begin asking each person picking up meals to provide the name of the child and the school that child attends. This helps ensure that meals are being picked up for children and that no duplicate meals are being distributed from different locations. This information will become part of the paperwork we must maintain as a result of our funding through these state and federal programs. Please remember that these meals will be FREE for any student age 18 or below. This includes students who do and do not qualify for a free or reduced lunch. This also includes any students from Pekin High School.
