Hoops for Heart Event

Students at Georgetowne Middle School will be participating in the Hoops for Heart Event to benefit the American Heart Association. This year the event will be a week long, beginning Monday March 1, 2010 and continue to Friday, March 5, 2010. Students will have a free throw contest, 3 point contest, lay up contest, dribble contest and 3 on 3 basketball game.The tournament will take place in the gym during the student's regular P.E. or Health time. The students will need to return their permission slip and $1.00 entry fee to Mrs. Cluskey or Mr. Knuppel as soon as possible. They will then be given a collection envelope to raise more funds that will go to the American Heart Association. The more money they raise, they can earn prizes for themselves. All of the money raised will go to the American Heart Association to help fight strokes and heart disease. The school will benefit by receiving a gift certificate for P.E. equipment for every $1000.00 raised. Last year we raised $1,600, lets top that this year!
